Federation House Renovation

St Lucia, Brisbane

Project Details:

This grand old Federation style house had been neglected in recent years and was in need of a complete makeover.

Whilst the brief was to create a design that would accommodate the increasing size of the new owner’s family, it specifically noted that we were to create the necessary extra spaces without compromising the original aesthetic. Whilst needing to satisfy the heritage regulations of the local council, the clients also wanted to embrace the ‘old world’ charm of the house, yet create a sophisticated and functional home with plenty of space for all members of the family to share. They also wanted to better link the house with the separate garage area, the landscaped backyard, the new pool, and the lovely city views beyond.

The contract included the addition of whole new extensions to either ends of the house, complimenting the grandeur of the existing aesthetic. The interiors were to be completely remodelled and redecorated in the style that suited the aesthetic. Luxurious building and finishing materials were chosen to seamlessly blend with the existing building fabric and enhance the sophisticated feel of the house.

As this was the second house we had created for these clients, we had already established a wonderful working relationship. They were great to work with, and whilst they already had a lot of pre-conceived ideas that they wanted to incorporate, they remained open to new design innovations and concepts.

Having worked with Guy on a previous job we were extremely confident of his abilities and eye for detail. We were not let down! The end product is just what we were wanting. Well done Guy!
